After Jennifer completed her BA at Carleton College, she moved to San Francisco and served as a caseworker for a U.S. Senator. The job got Jennifer noticed for her organizational skills, problem solving, and ability to work with diverse groups and earned her a promotion to a supervisory position for the Senate. While Jennifer enjoyed working in politics, she had a strong desire to help people in a more direct way and began to pursue her interest in Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P). She returned to school at the University of Washington and received her BS degree in O&P.

Jennifer took her newly acquired clinical skills and moved back to the East Coast and joined BioTech Industries at Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, New York to complete her residency. It was there Jennifer successfully developed her skills in the rehabilitation setting treating adult patients. As Jennifer’s interest in treating a wider spectrum of patients grew, her desire to expand from a rehab setting also grew. In 1998 she moved to Schenectady, NY and went to work for La Torre Orthopedic Laboratory. There, Jennifer began treating patients independently, working with pediatric cases, and perfecting her orthotic skills for both upper and lower extremities. The American Board for Certification (ABC) certified Jennifer in orthotics in 1998 and prosthetics in 2005.

ABC certifications in hand, Jennifer brought her clinical skills to BioMetrics. Because of Jennifer’s passionate interest in the mechanics of prosthetics and orthotics, she continually educates herself in pathology, human anatomy, kinesiology and gait analysis. Her widespread knowledge provides great comfort to all her patients because it allows her a unique, in-depth understanding of their condition. Along with Jennifer’s experience and knowledge, her personality allows her to make any patient feel comfortable and confident. This is proven by the responses BioMetrics receives through patient feedback.

Jennifer is a volunteer on the family selection committee for the Habitat for Humanity. She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, rock and ice climbing. She and her husband also enjoy spending time with their 2 dogs and 2 cats.
